Registration & Travel Grants
Registration

The ISTS deliberately keeps registration fees for the symposium low to encourage delegate attendance from a wide range of countries and backgrounds. The result? A wonderful opportunity to come along and interact with a diverse mix of sea turtle community members.
Registration fees include:
- Access to associated meetings & the main symposium
- Morning & afternoon tea (but not lunches)
- Membership to the International Sea Turtle Society for the year following the symposium. If you do not wish to be a member of the society you will be charged an extra US$25 on top of the fees outlined here.
All those who will attend the symposium and/or associated meetings must register. Registration "day rates" are not available.
Tickets for social functions are purchased as optional additional items during the registration process, as is official symposium apparel.
Cancellation Policy: Please note that you may cancel your registration up to one month before the start of the symposium and receive a refund of your fees. A 10% administration fee will be charged against ALL cancellations. Fees for cancellations requested after 15 January 2009 cannot be refunded.

Travel grants
Travel grants are given to students and other participants who require support and would benefit from attending the symposium. Priority will be given to those who will be presenting papers or posters. The Travel Grant Committee will also give priority to individuals from relatively under-represented regions, and individuals who have not attended the symposium or received travel grants in previous years. Individuals who have made significant contributions to the Mission of the ISTS will be given particular consideration. The committee looks favorably upon those who demonstrate efforts to secure additional sources of travel funds or matching grants. The priorities vary among travel regions and from year to year depending on the symposium location, theme and budget. The Travel Grant Committee attempts to conduct a fair and transparent process for the award of grants.
Once you have registered you can submit a travel grant application (it is advisable to also first submit an abstract). The process is managed online via the registration portal. The deadline for travel grant submissions is 15 September 2008.
Click for detailed travel grant submission instructions (a page outside of the registration portal).
