Workshop - turtle necropsy

The workshop is free to symposium delegates and will provide

  • A review of the current state of knowledge of disease in marine turtles, including the emergence of new diseases
  • An opportunity to discuss techniques and requirements to comprehensively post mortem a marine turtle with view to diagnosis
  • A practical session on post mortem examination including gross and microscopic sampling, and
  • A forum on rehabilitation of turtles.


Places are limited to 40 due to laboratory capacity for hands-on practical components. N.B. A minimum of 10 people is required for the workshop to run.

Places will be allocated to the first (by date) 40 people who have indicated their interest when completing the registration form for the symposium and who have subsequently paid their symposium registration fees. All others will remain on a “waiting list” in case of cancellations.
