Weather

Australia has an extremely varied climate – typically colder in the south and warmer towards the north. Brisbane, located in the mid latitudes, has what is often described as the ideal climate. February is the last month of summer and thus Brisbane’s temperatures are likely to be a pleasant 20oC (at night) rising to around 30oC during the day. Sea temperature will also be a very comfortable 25oC. Brisbane’s rainfall is typically variable during February and averages around 110mm per month. Perfect weather to enjoy the outdoors and see some of the great attractions the region has to offer.
Northwards from Brisbane temperatures will steadily rise, as will the chances of rainfall – especially in the more tropical areas such as Cairns and Darwin.
The Australian Government’s Bureau of Meteorology website has easy to search tables of long term averages for most larger towns and tourist sites.
